After a relatively quiet 2020, Oklahoma City’s biggest rapper, NOHEZZO, dropped his first full studio album on November 27, 2020. Titled “LIVINPROOF” the album features 9 hot tracks, including hit single “No Cap” which came out this past summer with a music video that has amassed over 30k views. The first track “Sins” is a fan-favorite, NOHEZZO details his struggles within his life. Along with a catchy hook, he asks listeners if they “Have lost it all tryna shake back?” He gives an emotional feel to this track, and you can why many others have been enticed by it. The second track “Kill Satan” is my personal favorite. Rapping over a southern style beat, you can really feel this song. For me this came in the form of seeing each part of what he talks about within the song, as well as connecting it to situations I’ve had within my life. HEZZO always delivers something special on these kinds of beats. I enjoyed how he progresses and tells a story on this track. His talent proves to be unmatched, and he he leaves us wondering when God is gonna Kill Satan. The third track, “Future References,” he delivers a fast and up-tempo flow on a clean beat. He goes in on the song, rapping about everything from VVS Diamonds to the trenches. The fourth song, “Control It” is more of a song for the ladies, the fun and playful beat goes hand in hand with the way he raps about how he can take a woman to new heights. Song five, 24K is more of a rainy afternoon song, he describes a heartbreak and the darkness that comes with it. He describes his insecurities, goals, and distrust for women. He’s seen the worst in people and knows that everyone isn’t what they may seem to be, no matter how pretty a woman is. The sixth song in this album, “Dope” he gives an emotional flow over a piano style beat, and it becomes a vibe within itself. Now, song number seven “On a Roll,” HEZZO gives a rapid and menacing aspect to the track, combined with a nasty beat, he delivers something for his fans even beyond the Northside Oklahoma to mess with. Song eight is another one of my personal favorites. Titled “Viral,” NOHEZZO provides extra catchy lyrics on a simple yet just as catchy beat. This is definitely another fan favorite, you can tell this one of the songs that makes the album what it is. Finally, song nine, No Cap, the famous 2020 NOHEZZO single we all know and love. If you haven’t listened to it yet, I’d recommend you do. On this track, HEZZO came back from an absence of music and delivered a “guns blaring” anthem over a old fashioned western bar fight beat. The way he puts himself in the rhythm of the beat proves how versatile he really is, and distances himself way above regular rappers. You can almost imagine the pianist going hard on the beat while HEZZO walks through a bar fight in an old fashioned bar in the 1800s, pistols drawn and all, just like how he delivered on LIVINPROOF. To HEZZO, I can’t wait to see what 2021 brings!
